Lorenzi Close-Up | A close view of the Rifugio Lorenzi with its summit cross, wedged between eroded limestone pinnacles on the Cristallo ridge. The hut's stone and wood construction blends with the surrounding rock, as if it had grown from the mountain itself. At this altitude, winter storms regularly coat the structure in thick rime ice, and summer thunderstorms can strike with little warning. The refuge served as a vital rest point on the Ivano Dibona via ferrata for decades before its closure.
